F1 Success

For immediate release: 18 November 2011

Guernsey Stamps is pleased to announce the release of a striking set of four stamps in celebration of the achievements of the two latest British Formula 1 World Champions, Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button.

Currently racing for the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes team, Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button celebrated World Championship success in 2008 and 2009 respectively; and images from Grands Prix during the current 2011 season provide the focus for Guernsey Stamps' Formula 1 issue.

Guernsey Stamps has also produced a Formula 1 folder where legendary British motor racing driver Sir Stirling Moss describes the driving skills and style of Hamilton and Button.

The stamps and folder follow an earlier issue released by Guernsey Stamps in 2007, which included eight individual stamps commemorating British Formula 1 World Champions.

Dawn Gallienne, head of philatelic at Guernsey Stamps said: - "I am thrilled that we have been able to produce a further set of stamps to complement our hugely popular 2007 commemorative World Champions series. Both Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button have risen through the racing ranks to achieve global success."

The stamps are available to purchase online at www.guernseystamps.com or by calling Philatelic Customer Services on +44 (0) 1481 716486.
