The fourth and final stamp in a series created from previously issued Bailiwick stamps and mini sheets, and depicting a butterfly with flowers, is to be released by Guernsey Post’s philatelic bureau on 2 November 2022.
Guernsey’s ‘Heart of the Forest’ quartet series has been created by Gail Armstrong, an award-winning paper sculptor and illustrator who produces three-dimensional works of art from flat sheets of paper.
Bridget Yabsley, head of philatelic at Guernsey Post, said: - “We are delighted with our stamp series which Gail Armstrong has created using previously issued Guernsey and Alderney stamps and miniature sheets, which she has transformed into beautiful three-dimensional paper cut images to depict elements of sustainable forest management.
“This is a philatelic first for us and, as well as being a fantastic entry into the world of philately, with the entire series retailing at £4.00, we know that our customers have enjoyed trying to identify our previous stamp issues on these stamps.”
