Guernsey Post announces that it will release the third of four stamps in a series commemorating the centenary year of the Royal British Legion. The third stamp will be issued on the 1 September 2021, 100 years after the British Legion was formed, bringing together four national organisations of ex-Servicemen that had established themselves to support those who had suffered as a result of service during the First World War.
The third stamp (£1.00 value), which depicts British soldiers on patrol in Helmand province, Afghanistan, follows the release earlier this year of the first two stamps - one depicting two Supermarine Spitfires and the other featuring a Hawker Hurricane fighter plane, which were issued in February and May 2021 respectively.
An image of HMS Ardent during the Falklands conflict features on the fourth and final stamp, which, along with the souvenir sheet bearing the four stamps, will be issued on 11 November 2021.
